Officers from the Scarsdale Police Department responded to the intersection of Popham Road and Post Road at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, where there was a report of a crash.

Police said that the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta involved in the crash, Larchmont resident Daniel Joseph, 37, was able to provide a New York State non-drive ID, though he did not possess a valid driver’s license.

According to police, a check of Joseph’s identification determined that his privilege to operate a motor vehicle had been revoked 12 times for failing to answer a summons and failing to pay fines for traffic violations.

One of the suspensions was in Scarsdale, where there was a bench warrant out for Joseph’s arrest.

Joseph was arrested and charged on the bench warrant, a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle with more than three suspensions, and operation by an unlicensed driver. Following his arraignment, Joseph was released and scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Court at a later date.
